Everything You Need to Know About the Acid Dosing Pump

משאבת מינון חומצה לבריכה

The acid dosing pump serves two functions: first, it injects acid into the pool’s piping system when needed.

This acid is essential for balancing the water’s pH level. Second, the pump plays an important role in injecting acid into the electrolysis cell to clean scale buildup off the electrodes while the circulation pump is switched off.

The Resilience D Plus continuously monitors pH readings. When the system detects that the water’s pH level has dropped below the set target, it activates the dosing pump and rebalances the water’s pH.

Correct Installation of the Dosing Pump

When installing the dosing pump, place the acid container inside a containment basin (a tray designed to hold the acid in case the container overflows or tips over). Make sure the pump is positioned no more than one meter above the acid container, and keep the tubing as short as possible. Do not store equipment unrelated to pool operation in the pump room, including additional acid containers, and make sure the room is well ventilated to prevent damage from acid fumes. It’s also essential to make sure children cannot access the acid container or the dosing pump.

Routine Maintenance: What to Keep in Mind

  • Whenever working on the dosing pump, wear gloves and protective goggles. It’s recommended to protect your clothing or wear disposable clothing.
  • Required: replace the internal tubing and the check valve/injector at the start of the swimming season or every 180 days.
  • Recommended: use acid with a concentration below 20%. If needed, the acid container can be diluted.
  • Note: always add acid to water, never water to acid.

Enjoy a pleasant, clean and safe swim!
