How does a solar water heating system work?
Solar systems use the sun’s energy to heat the water flowing inside the absorber. The water, heated by the sun, is then transferred into a storage tank or a swimming pool. Water is continually circulated through the solar panels until they reach the desired temperature.

Does the solar system require maintenance?

A properly installed solar heating system should require very little, or no operation maintenance. However, washing the panels once in a while is recommended to eliminate dust settling which might decrease efficiency.
Will the polymer panel affect the water?
No! Our unique panels are made of compounded Polypropylene with special ultraviolet inhibitor additives to ensure no deterioration over time due to sun’s radiation. Magen eco-Energy’s polypropylene material is certified for use with potable water, as specified in US NSF-61, German, Swiss and British standards.
Will the system have to be removed from the roof when temperatures drop below freezing?
Not at all! Our solar collectors will not be damaged by low temperatures as long as there is no water inside them. The best way to deal with low temperatures is to empty the system from water. Magen eco-Energy’s solar water heating systems have a drain back system that can automatically deplete the water from the collector back into the pool when the circulation pump is not working. The collectors’ specially formulated Polymeric material can withstand the harshest weather conditions.

What is the life expectancy of the system?
Our solar pool heating systems have a demonstrated recorded life expectancy of over 25 years and have proven to withstand the harshest weather conditions.
What happens if the pool water becomes too warm?
This can be easily prevented by adding an automatic controller, which allows you to monitor your desired pool temperature. When the desired temperature is reached, your solar heating system will automatically turn off and start again when needed, to maintain the desired temperature.
In some climates, the swimming pool can reach uncomfortable temperatures during peak summer months without a heating system. Our solar system can also cool the pool's water by simply circulating the water through the collectors at night, for cooler water during the day.
Where can the solar system be installed?
Our solar collectors can be mounted on a range of flat or angles surfaces such as the roof, a rack, or a pergola. Nearly almost any surface area that is properly exposed  to the sun will work. Ideally our solar collectors should face south (or south east/west, but never north!) when installed in the northern hemisphere and north (or north west/east, but never south!) when installed in the southern hemisphere.
Will installing a solar system damage my roof?
Never if you use our individual tube design panel, which eliminates excessive water accumulation between the roof and the panel. Our solar collectors are affixed with a patented Alligator Clamps, which minimizes roof penetration and allows sufficient mounting flexibility without scratching or harming the surface.
How many collectors do I need to heat my pool?
The area needed for a solar systems to heat your pool depends on many factors. Such as: geographic location, roof orientation, pool configuration, local weather conditions and you’re heating requirements. Contact your local distributor to determine the exact size of solar system your will require.
    What does the warranty cover?
Our warranty covers between 10-12 years (depending on the type of panel) parts manufactured at our facility. Our solar collectors are warranted against internal freezing, as long as they have been installed according to our installation guide and by an authorized distributor.

    What does ISO 9001:2008 means?
Only a few manufacturers have the privilege of acquiring the prestigious ISO 9001:2008 certificate which is selectively given only to companies performing at the highest levels in their industries and have the ability to meet the strict requirements specified by this demanding standard. Magen eco-Energy is proud to provide its customers with high quality products that constantly meet the highest international standards.

What are the environmental benefits of Magen eco-Energy’s solar heating systems?
Water heating accounts for almost 30% of the average household’s energy consumption and climbs even higher in commercial or public facilities. Heating g your water utilizing the sun not only saves energy; it also reduces the greenhouse gas emissions that would have been produced while generating that energy. A typical household can reduce it annual greenhouse gas emission by up 4-6 Co2 annually. This is equivalent to 2785 liters (612 gallons) of gasoline or 12.7 barrels of oil.  Adding a solar water heating system will not only decrease utility bills but will contribute to environmental recovery.
Can I use a solar collector with my existing hot water system?
Of course! a solar thermal system can integrate with any conventional water heating system in your home and supplement it. Your existing system will function as a failsafe backup system only when the solar heating is not enough. By using the sun's free energy you will reduce your expensive hot water energy consumption by 60-90%.
Can I just use solar electric (PV) to offset my hot water load?
Only if you wish to spend over five (5) times your money, and have six (6) times more available space for the panels. A more reasonable solution can be a solar water heater with an electric back-up system that can be offset by a PV system.

     Natural Salt Chlorinators - FAQ
Why should I use natural salt chlorinator in my pool/spa/Jacuzzi?
Using a natural salt chlorinator rather than chlorine will guarantee sanitized, healthy water eliminating the negative side effects associated with traditional chlorine. No strong odor! No red eyes! No frizzled hair and itchy skin. No discolored bathing suits or hair!  It is the most natural, safe, economical, eco-friendly way of sanitizing your pool water and requires less maintenance.

How often do I need to add salt to my pool?
Typically the only time you may have to add salt to the pool is when the pool has been drained, refilled or when AquaBlue low salinity indicator light is turned on.  Pool water run through the AquaBlue cell and subjected to electrolysis. The electrolysis process transforms the chlorine portion of the salt into a sanitizer capable of destroying algae, virus and bacteria. The procedure does not destroy or deteriorates the salt, enabling it to continue working without having to add more. The most common ways salt is lost is through leaks, rainwater overflow, filter backwashing and bather splash-out. Normal water evaporation does not lose salt it increases its concentration in the water. The water added to bring the water level back to normal will then reduce the salt concentration back to 4000 ppm. At the beginning of the season we recommend testing the salinity levels of the pool water and adding salt if necessary.

What are the advantages of salt-water chlorination?
Salt-water chlorination makes your pool much easier to maintain, needing much less attention than a chlorine pool. No direct contact with chemicals, saves time, and saves money while conserving the environment.
Will the water be salty, now that I’ve added salt to it?
The salt levels required to produce active chlorine by our AquaBlue natural salt chlorinators are so low it will not affect your pool water and will not be noticeable.  On the contrary, your water quality will drastically improve leaving your skin feeling softer and clothing and hair not discolored.

Does the salt chlorinator require any maintenance?
Magen eco-Energy’s natural salt chlorinators are equipped with a self cleaning feature that prolongs the life of the chlorinator. AquaBlue cell is transparent allowing you to visually observe any lime scale build up over the electrolysis plates. Your systems’ maintenance is nearly non-existent leaving you with more time to enjoy your pool rather than taking care of it.
How does the self cleaning action work?
Unique technology switches the polarity of the electrical current every few hours reducing the ability of lime scale to build up over the electrolysis plates. Lime scale build up will in time damage the plate’s efficiency and life span. Integrating the PH Clear dosing acid pump will extend the life of the cell for longer periods of time.
How do I balance the pH levels in my pool?
Maintaining balanced pH levels essential to the quality of the water and the safe swimming conditions. Magen eco-Energy’s PH Clear is a double action device designed to work in conjunction with the PSC-5 Natural Salt Chlorinator. It simultaneously maintains the proper level of pH in the pool for enhanced water quality and removes lime scale from the chlorinator cell extending its life span.
PH Clear is a dosing acid pump that allows you to insert small amounts of acid into the pool without having direct contact with the chemicals. The PSC-5 natural salt chlorinator controls the pH acid levels in the pool.  When more acid is required to balance the water, the controller will signal the PH Clear pump to insert more acid into the circulation line. The PH Clear dosing pump will then draw acid from the tank connected to it inserting it into the circulation pipe leading to the pool.

How much salt do I add to my pool?
In order to determine the amount of salt to add to your pool you must know how many liters of water your pool/spa holds as well as the current salinity levels in your pool. Use this rule of thumb as your guideline when inserting salt to the water for the first time:
Add 3.5 kg (7.7 pounds) of salt for every 1 liter (0.26 gallons) of water.
If salt has been added previously to the water. Please refer to the owner’s manual provided with the product.
What happens if I add too much salt?
Over-salting will not harm your AquaBlue system, but it will lead to salty tasting water. If levels exceed 6500 ppm AquaBlue system is programmed to protect itself by alerting the user that there are high salinity levels in the pool. To reduce the salt level, drain some water and refill the pool with fresh water. Important: excessive salinity levels (over 8000 ppm) can sustain corrosion damage to metallic equipment such as stainless steel handrails, ladders and filters.
